Planning For Australia Day 2008

January 15th, 2008

Hi to all those back from holidays!
Now you’ve relaxed, its time to start off the Scouting year -

Lane Cove Rotary Club and Lane Cove Council are planning the events for Australia Day to be held at Pottery Green this year. To advertise the events, the Town Crier will be in the Plaza next Saturday morning. We would like to have some Scouts and Cubs to hold the flag with the Crier, while he walks around the Plaza. Each Scout/Cub Scout would only be needed for approximately an hour each between 10 and 12. Please let me know if you can come (and your prefered time slot)
This is also a reminder that our Group will be involved in the flag raising and citizenship ceremonies on Australia Day at Pottery Green (time TBA).

Kind regards,

Carolyn McGregor (Kaa)

I vote and I do bushcare

November 21st, 2007

Hi everyone,
You might be interested in what Michelle has to offer this Saturday. It could be a lot of fun and a great way of learning about bushcare!
Best regards,
Yours in Scouting
Paul (Group Leader)

“If you are looking for a nice diversion to the election this Saturday, then come on down for the last Bushcare session for 2007 at Stoney Gully (the gully next to the Community Nursery).
The Eco garden is growing well but needs a bit of loving attention and Stoney Gully is coming along nicely, though we can always use extra helpers!
If you can spare a bit of time on Sat 24 November, between 1 - 4pm, David Rabbidge, Council’s bush regenerator, looks forward to seeing you there!
You can access the Nursery from Banksia Close (on foot) or park and walk in from Lloyd Rees Drive (next to the Scout Hall).
Cheers,
Michelle Greenfield
(Bushcare Co-ordinator)”
