BBQ Fudraiser at Thomas Dux This Saturday May 10th

Friday, May 9th, 2008
Thomas Dux logo

We have been invited to run a fundraising BBQ at Thomas Dux, Lane Cove this Saturday May 10th between 10am and 2pm.

We realise that this is extremely short notice as most families are involved with various sporting activities on Saturdays, but if possible we would like as many cubs and scouts families as possible to spare some time (30mins to 1 hour) on Saturday. Cubs and Scouts taking part will be eligible for a Job Month Badge. Full uniform is not essential, but please wear Group scarf and hat.

Kind regards,
Carolyn McGregor (Kaa)

Anzac Day 2008

Saturday, April 19th, 2008

Anzac Day 2008Hope to see you all at the Lane Cove ANZAC Day Ceremony next Friday!
(attendance at the ceremony forms part of the community service - Their Service Our Heritage 2008 badge)
This year it will be a short march. The RSL have advised we will be assembling in the lane between Birdwood Lane and the Plaza. They would like us there by 7.15am please. They have asked for a Scout to march with the Australian flag and for us to raise and lower this flag during the ceremony. They have also asked if some scouts could march with the RSL banner. I am sure this can be done.
I look forward to seeing you next Friday.

Kind regards,
Paul McGregor (Group Leader)

BBQ Roster for Sunday 9th of March

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

To all the Scout Group families:

This is N1 of only 3 fundraisers for the year. The BBQ day at Bunnings Artarmon (in lower level of carpark, adjacent to the lift/stair well). To limit the number of times we will be asking the parents to help fund raise, the Parents Committee booked this event last year. As Bunnings let different community groups do this every weekend, they tell us we have an opportunity to make a profit of around $1000.
To maximise profits, could every family bring an old ice-cream container (or similar) containing ice: we want to minimise the amount spent on ice & maximise our profit
Adults will be cooking (and some Scouts under supervision); Cub Scouts will be taking orders and selling drinks. Please wear cub scarves and hats.

If you absolutely can’t make it please ring Carolyn McGregor Urgently.
