Cubs District Camp – October 7-9 at Ingleside Scout Camp

Tuesday, August 30th, 2011

This is a great opportunity for our cubs to camp with other packs from our Moocooboolah District. The theme for this camp is FLIGHT and the cubs will have the opportunity to complete their Level 1 Flight badge at the camp (plus keener cubs can also work towards the Level 2 Flight badge).

To give your cubs this opportunity, I need parents to volunteer as parent helpers. If you can help with cooking, 1st Aid, and helping transport and set up camp please contact me a.s.a.p. Dads particularly are needed to supervise the boys showering.

Ingleside Scout Camp is in the valley below the Ba’Hai temple on the way to Mona Vale so it’s quite close. The camp also regularly runs Environmental Activities and we will have access to their Environment Centre on the weekend.

**Please let Kaa know if you can help** Payment and forms by Wed 14th September please ***DEADLINE EXTENDED UNTIL 20/9/11***

1st Lane Cove takes part in Scouts in Action Week – 20-27 August 2011

Tuesday, August 30th, 2011

Cubs and scouts are taking part in a National Program centred on Disability Awareness this week, and will earn a special badge for their participation.

Activities involved games using bubble wrap masks and blindfolds to give insight into the difficulties encountered by eyesight problems and how to use their other senses to compensate. They also learnt some sign language and ways to communicate without talking.
