A very wet but good Centenaree

Sunday, August 19th, 2007

Hi everyone,
Thanks for a great day with our Centenaree. May I ask you to pass on my thanks to Graeme, Bill and everyone else who was there but may not be in this email. It was certainly damp not a good time for preparing damper in a campfire! It was very interesting to see the river of water that came down from the Council Eco-garden! Certainly a torrent of water! I was impressed by everyone doing their best and making the best of the day. It was a good time to talk to people and relax. The result of our raffle was interesting. Carolyn and I delivered the prize to Peter Anley from Burns Bay Road who informed us he was a scout at 1st Lane Cove when it was at Tantallon Road. He did say their scarf was different to ours. We use the 1st Burns Bay scarf 1st Lane Cove of today is a joined group of 1st Lane Cove and 1st Burns Bay. We need to collect a bit of information on our history for including in our new building. Once again thanks for all your efforts today and in preparation for same.
Yours in Scouting and best regards,

Paul McGregor

Cameraygal Festival

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

Dear Cubs and Scouts Families,
As part of the opening of the Cameraygal Festival, we have been given the opportunity to run a fundraising BBQ. Lane Cove Council has donated the meat, we just need Scout families to help cook and serve. Please let me know if you can spare 1/2 hr - 1hr this Saturday between 10:30 and 1:00pm by email or ring/message me on my mobile.
Thanks,
Kaa

Cuboree 2007

Tuesday, August 7th, 2007

Please note: Cuboree applications must be in tomorrow night (as we are already late submitting them!) Cubs age limit: must be born after 1st October 1996. The application form is available here - cuboree2007Application.pdf

The other criteria is that everyone going to Cuboree must attend our District Shakedown Camp on 22-23 September (this compulsory camp is to ensure that the Cubs will be fine away from home for the entire Cuboree). This will be held at the Pennant Hills Scout Camp. Cost for each cub scout for the shakedown camp will be $5 per night plus food (more details as I find out!)

Please make out Cuboree payment cheques to 1st Lane Cove Scout Group, as we will need to submit a Group cheque.

I will need at least one parent helper to assist me at the Cuboree - this role could be shared e.g. one/two days each etc ( Adult helpers need to complete the PEDForm.pdf ) Please consider this and talk to me tomorrow night.

Any queries, please call me,
Kaa
