Cubs Tomorrow Night

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

Hi everyone,
Just a reminder for the cubs to bring a torch tomorrow night as we’re going down to the park!
Also May 31st is the closing date for registration for the State Environment Camp to be held at the end of this term. Both our Scout Troop and the Cub Pack will be going for 2 days: Fri night to Sun pm. For those cubs who asked about when the zoo visit will be: I have checked and it will most probably be on Saturday (if numbers increase, then there might be another group go on Sunday)
It will be a great opportunity for the cubs to camp with other cubs, scouts & venturers from all over the state – so please check the attached info letter EnviroActivityCampInfo.pdf. If any parents are interested in helping over the weekend – I would appreciate it!
The Application Form is available here SeacApplicationForm.pdf
Thanks,
Kaa,

Red Shield Thanks

Monday, May 21st, 2007

Hi everyone.
This is just a short note to say thank you to everyone who collected and/or made a contribution to the Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal yesterday. I have been advised that the total collection for Lane Cove was around $40,600, which is about a 6% increase on last year. The Army are very pleased with the contributions and effort made in Lane Cove. Please ensure all our Cubs and Scouts are made aware of the total and thank them for being great collectors. They all did a great job. Once again thanks to everyone.
Yours in Scouting,
Paul

2007 Red Shield Appeal

Red Shield Appeal
Hi everyone,
It is that time of year again where I am asking for volunteers for the Salivation Army’s Red Shield Appeal that will be held this year on Sunday 20 May.
The support from Lane Cove Scouts last year was most appreciated. This year we are doing the same area in Central Ward so support numbers for our area this year would be most helpful. If we end up with more in our area then I know other areas in Lane Cove can always use some help.
If you can ask for collectors and let me know who can be collectors it would be appreciated.
Young people over 16-years can go out on their own but I prefer they collect in pairs. Cubs can also assist while accompanied by an adult, normally one of their parents, as many of you have done in the past.
I have set up the areas so they roughly have to cover about 40-houses. This can often be done in about 1 to 2 hours. It is best to be able to do the collection in the morning or early afternoon if you are able.
If you can help again this year it would really great. Please let me know by return email or calling me on 02 9428 4061
Thanks
Yours in Scouting
Best regards
Paul
