Plans For Australia Day 2007

Thursday, January 4th, 2007

Hi everyone.
Welcome to 2007. At the time of this post some of you will be enjoying life in Victoria - I trust the Jamboree goes well.
The Lane Cove Australia Day event is proceeding and the organising committee, chaired by Roger Climpson, is looking forward to this being the best Australia Day Event ever.
The Scouts/Guides have been asked to set-up the flags, raise the flags and hand out the citizen’s trees plus assist in the Rotary games after the citizenship ceremony.
In addition on Saturday January 20th we have been asked to distribute brochures through all the shopping and business areas. The plan is to meet at 18A Burns Bay Road at 10.00am.
It is a great opportunity for the Scouts and Guides to show our colours and do a bit of promotion. This year the Scout logo is going to be on the advertising banner for the event. Next year we want to have both the Scout and Guides logos on the Banner. Scouts and Guides will be mentioned in the thanks on Australia Day.
Please let me know your availability for both the 20th and 26th. There is a meeting on 10 January where we will be asked what we are able to do so, where possible , can you please indicate who maybe able to contribute on each day. Those at the Jamboree have a reasonable excuse for letting me know a little later!!
Yours in Scouting.
Best regards,
Paul Mc Gregor, Group Leader
